The 1st Open Day of the INDOEDUC4ALL project was celebrated on April 25th 2018 and hosted by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) at the Lidah Wetan Campus (Surabaya, Indonesia).This event was organized with the purpose to showcase the progress made by UNESA, alongside all project partners, in terms of inclusive education within the first 18 months of implementation of the INDOEDUC4ALL project.
 
As such, the event was divided in three different activities. Firstly, an interactive talk show was organised with the participation of representatives from the  Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs Department, Ministry of Education and Culture, which interacted on stage with the rector of UNESA, representatives of the INDOEDUC4ALL partner institutions from Indonesia an Europe, local authorities, academic staff, representatives from high schools of the region, other universities, students with and without disabilities and disability organizations. Afterwards, UNESA arranged a Work Exhibition in which PSLD UNESA awarded their Annual Disability Talent Contest, presented different tuition programmes for disability students and displayed the breadth of their disability services enhaced by its participation in the iNDOEDUC4ALL project, in partnership with high schools, social services and civil society organizations. Finally, the participants joined a very formative Site Visit through PSLD’s UNESA services, the Unit of Services for Children with Special Needs and Unesa’s Disability Corner.

To date, INDOEDUC4ALL project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union,  has provided the opportunity to refresh UNESA’s Disability Support Center (Pusat Studi dan Layanan Disabilitas- PSLD UNESA) by modernizing their human capital with the attendance to specific disability training in Glasgow Caledonian University (UK) and Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga (Indonesia); sharing Good Practices on disability and education by taking part in Site Visits to the University of Alicante (Spain) and University of Piraeus Research Center (Greece); elaborating ongoing Strategic Planning to fully  and implementing Needs Analysis Methodologies to identify strengths and areas of improvement to promote an inclusive environment in Indonesian Higher Education.
